Virtual Shower for a Shower!

Steve and Julie took a trip to Moshi, Tanzania with Kilimanjaro Mission of Hope and Outreach (KMHO).  Little did we know how touched we would be by the beautiful people we traveled with as well as the many priests, seminarians, family and friends we met.

When we visited St. James Jr. Seminary, we questioned about a half-built building  It was explained to us that it is the beginning of a two-story bathhouse with new showers and toilets for the boys.  This project started two years ago but they have no funds to complete it and are at risk of closing by the health department!  We toured the existing bathhouse and discovered the boys fill buckets of water, take them to the bathhouse to shower and use the toilets.  The existing bathhouse is in terrible shape and very old, apparently not worth repairing the waterlines for such conditions. The director of St. James Seminary, Fr. Pastor Mafikiri, consulted with a firm and the seminary is in need of $55,000 to complete the new two-story bathhouse!

So, we told them that we would help RAISE FUNDS – a virtual shower of sorts - for the completion of the new bathhouse!

If you are at all interested in joining us on this mission, and we pray you will be:

On the donate page, please choose the "mission" for this project "St. James Restroom Restoration."

As parents with a son in the Detroit seminary, our hearts were drawn to the fact that the young boys seeking out God’s will in their lives in Africa at least need toilets, sinks and showers with running water!

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

 As you have heard before...
sometimes it takes a village to get things done!

Email us with any questions.

With love and gratitude,  Julie and Steve
